Gerson Paniagua, Family Engagement Coordinator
Gerson joined Capital City in October 2017. He holds a Master of Education in Human Resource Development from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Mechanical Engineering from University of Virginia.
Gerson brings over eight years of experience doing community outreach and family engagement work. Previously, he was the Family and Community Engagement Coordinator at Alexandria City Public Schools. He also has received significant training in youth leadership development and adult learning and facilitation. He was an Adjunct Professor at Northern Virginia Community College, the Coordinator of the Youth Leadership Development Program at Edu-Future and a Foster Parent Recruiter for the Arlington County Government.
Gerson is fluent in Spanish. During his free time he likes to learn new recipes, finding hole-in-the-wall places to eat, DJ, mountain bike, play and watch soccer and research his next off-the-beaten-path travel destination!
