Cynthia Dorsey

Cynthia Dorsey, Drama Teacher

Cynthia joined Capital City in August 2012. She holds a Master of Arts in Pan African Studies with a concentration in African Theatre and Art from Syracuse University and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts and Communications from Columbia College in Chicago.

Prior to joining Capital City, she was the Performing Arts Director at Family Matters of Greater Washington, managing the day-to-day operations of a staff of 30, while also organizing and teaching a residential outdoor education program for inner-city youth.

She is the Co-Founder and Artistic Director of the SoulFly Theatre Society. SoulFLY is a grassroots entertainment group that produces theatre, film, television, and radio projects.

Cynthia’s hobbies include acting, directing, freelance writing, traveling, and spending time with her Goddaughter, Jordyn.
