Elizabeth McNamee

Elizabeth McNamee, 4th Grade Classroom Teacher

Elizabeth joined Capital City in August 2013. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Oregon State University. The majority of her career has been teaching about the natural world through various environmental and museum education programs.

Prior to Capital City, Elizabeth worked as a Natural History Interpreter for the Alaska State Parks Department, as an Environmental and Education Coordinator for the Woody Island Tribal Council (Kodiak, Alaska), as a Camp Specialist for the Oregon Zoo, and as a Field Instructor (Botany and Forest Ecology) for the Outdoor School (Portland, OR).

Elizabeth’s hobbies include knitting, spinning yarn, gardening, hiking, cooking, fishing, painting, and playing with her two amazing dogs. She currently volunteers with the National Museum of Natural History, giving public tours and assisting with special programs.
