Emmanuel Taiwo, Director of Student Services
Emmanuel joined Capital City in August 2012. He holds a dual Master of Education in General and Special Education from Lesley University, MA and a Bachelor of Science in Physics Education from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. He is currently a doctoral candidate (Special Education) at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. His research interests include mathematical learning disabilities, evidence-based practices and interventions, and improving learning outcomes for students with difficulties in mathematics.
Prior to his current position, Emmanuel worked as a 4th grade Inclusion teacher at Capital City. He also worked at Septima Clark Public Charter School in Washington, DC; Christ Academy International in Abuja, Nigeria; and the University of Winneba Demonstration School in Ghana.
Emmanuel speaks Yoruba and his hobbies include playing the piano, traveling, and reading.
