Jane Ngugi, Kindergarten Assistant Teacher
Jane joined Capital City in October 2016. She is currently pursuing a Master of Clinical Social Work from Catholic University, where she also earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and Social Work. Jane holds an Associate of Applied Science in Mental Health from Montgomery College.
Previously, Jane worked at Elsie Whitlow Stokes Communtiy Freedom Public Charter School, Imagine Hope Community Charter School, and facilitated playgroups at the Petworth Cooperative. As part of her commitment to improve literacy among elementary school children, she was a Jumpstart Corps member and tutor for DC Reads.
Jane is the mother of Capital City student Karl. She enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and camping as well as spending time reading books and writing.
