Luz Rivera, 3rd Grade Inclusion Teacher
Luz joined Capital City in August 2017. She holds a dual Master of Education in Elementary Education and Special Education from Lesley University and a dual Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and American Studies from Wesleyan University.
Prior to joining Capital City, she worked at another DC public charter school for four years and is currently working as a Resident Mentor for Urban Teachers. Luz is an alumni of Urban Teachers, Cohort 2013, and served as a graduate assistant for Johns Hopkins coursework through Urban Teachers.
Luz is fluent in Spanish and in her spare time she likes to binge-watch shows and movies on Netflix with her partner. Her hobbies include painting with friends, hiking, and traveling within the United States.
