Tsitsi Sithole, Early Childhood Director
Tsitsi joined Capital City in July 2017. She holds a Master in Early Childhood and Adolescent Risk and Prevention from Harvard Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from McGill University.
Tsitsi has received significant training around the Reggio Emilia Approach, Race and Equity through the National Equity Project, and in the use of various early childhood curriculum and assessment tools. She is also certified to be a PK CLASS observer.
Tsitsi has over 12 years of experience working in education. Prior to Capital City, she was the Instructional Specialist and Program Manager at DCPS central office. She was also the Master PK Teacher at Inspired Teaching Public Charter School, the Lead PK Teacher at Georgetown University Hoya Kids Early Learning Center and a Mental Health Counselor in New Jersey. Tsitsi was the PK Teaching and Learning Facilitator and Family Coach for families with children ages 0-3 for research projects at Georgetown University.
Tsitsi is fluent in Shona, one of the native languages spoken in Zimbabwe and her hobbies include spending time with her three children, Noelani, Ikaia and Anela, running, writing, staying abreast of news and current events, and finding quiet spaces to recharge!
