On May 4th, three 3rd graders, Elizabeth, Jason, and Sandra, testified at the DC Council, advocating for the Council to divest funds from banks that support the Dakota Access Pipeline. Related to our 3rd grade spring expedition on the history of the Americas and natural resources, students researched the current controversy over the Dakota Access Pipeline and wrote letters to Council members to share their findings. After examining multiple perspectives, our 3rd graders used their voices to advocate for their beliefs. As Elizabeth shared, "I am a little girl who stands for justice."
