Teen Mentors

High School student mentoring Lower School student

Capital City is the first school in DC to participate in Teen Trendsetters, a program sponsored by the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy that pairs High School students with 1st and 2nd graders to improve reading skills. Every Wednesday, six mentors from our High School work with their Lower School mentees in our library. This cross-campus collaboration is a demonstration of the community and character that is present across our PK-12 school.
