Flipped PD: Strategies for Learning New Online Creation Tools

Flipped PD: Strategies for Learning New Online Creation Tools

Flipped PD is PD on your time. Each week learn about a new technology resources and best practices from the library team, the tech team or your colleagues.

This week’s PD is going to be a continual work in progress, and is based on our most requested topic: How can teachers teach their students how to use technology?

To answer this question, Mr. Chase has come up with some basic strategies to learn new online creation tools. (For the purposes of this PD, online creation tools can be thought of as any online service that allows users to create a product, such as Glogster, Prezi, Weebly, Wikispaces, and more. These tools are ideal for final expedition projects.)

These strategies are intended to be easily applied to any type of online creation tool. Mr. Chase hopes to refine these strategies with teacher help over the coming year.

Teachers can get the most of this training by coming in with a specific tool they want to learn, a project they want to enhance, or just an open mind.
